I started in IT in 2014 on the network side, Cisco routing and switching, and moved steadily toward the part of the job I care about most: security. Today I split my time between consulting for businesses and building software of my own.

Along the way I earned CompTIA Security+, Certified Ethical Hacker and Microsoft's Security Operations Analyst certification, plus vendor certifications from SentinelOne, Keeper Security and Zscaler. I work in English, Dutch and French.

Security is the profession; building is the hobby that got out of hand. I publish Android apps on Google Play, run a portal of web apps on labidi.eu, and ship portable Windows tools written in Go. Everything I release follows the same rules: private by default, no tracking, and no install where a single portable file will do.

The journey so far

  1. 2014: first steps in IT

    Professional start on the infrastructure side: networks, routing and switching, backed by three Cisco networking courses.

  2. Specialising in security

    The move from keeping systems running to keeping them safe: CompTIA Security+, Certified Ethical Hacker and Microsoft Security Operations Analyst, with hands-on vendor work around SentinelOne, Keeper Security and Zscaler.

  3. Compyra

    Consulting under our own flag: security assessments, penetration testing, incident response, IT consulting and web development for businesses, delivered in three languages.

  4. Today: consulting and creating

    Next to client work we design and ship our own software: Android apps on Google Play, a portal of web apps, and portable Windows tools. See the projects page for the full picture.
